Guess what? You can now update your Samsung Galaxy note N7000 with the latest Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware. It is to be noted that this is not the official firmware launched by Samsung Electronics and is not a global update but is rolled out officially for European users. As this is not the manual update we will be using Odin to apply this update and not the KIES tool. This new update is also known as XXLA3 firmware and it comes with a number of enhancements that we will be taking a look at in a short while.

You do not require to root your device in order to apply this update and if you have already rooted your device from before then after applying this update, the rooting access will get cancelled. Thus those of you who have lost their warranty by rooting can reclaim back their warranty.

We wont be responsible for any harm caused to your device during the updation procedure that is unlikely to happen if you follow the instructions carefully. The updation procedure is not recommended for basic users but is for advanced users and is only applicable for Samsung Galaxy Note N7000 that are network unlocked. Do not apply it in any other device as it might not be reversible and may harm the device by blocking it.

Let’s take a look at some of the improvements that come with this update.

  • Enhanced touch response
  • Overall users experience is more flexible

You must backup all the user data present in your device since chances of data loss or corruption are there. Having a backup can help you replace the lost data if any damage occurs. Follow the link posted below to easily backup and restore all your data.
