Those of you who own a Samsung Galaxy S Wi-Fi smartphone that is otherwise known as Samsung Galaxy Player can now update your smartphone with a new stock ROM update G70XXKPF that will make you run on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread version. It is to be noted that this update is only applicable for European users of Samsung Galaxy S Wi-Fi 5.0 smartphone. You do not require to root your phone in order to apply this update and if you have already rooted your smartphone from before then applying this firmware will unroot your smartphone.

We wont be responsible for any harm caused to your device during the updation procedure that is unlikely to happen if you follow the instructions carefully. The updation procedure is not recommended for basic users but is for advanced users and is only applicable to Samsung Galaxy Player smartphones that are network unlocked. Do not apply it in any other device as it might not be reversible and may harm the device by blocking it.

Must Have:
Steps to Update XXKPF 2.3.5 firmware in 2.3.6 G70ZCKPA Firmware
Step-1: Download G70XXKPF Zip file from the Must Have section to your computer and extract the file at the same location. After extraction is complete, match the files with the image given below and if a single file is found missing then check with the downloading and extraction of files.

Step-2: Open Odin in your computer and power off your phone to enter your device into Download mode by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button and holding both press Power button simultaneously. Once you enter into download mode connect your phone to the computer via USB Cable while keeping the ODIN opened.

Step-3: Now the drivers will get installed and ID: COM will turn yellow indicating that you can now proceed to the next step. It may take 3-4mins for the ID:COM block to install all the drivers hence wait till the process completes. Dont proceed to the next step if the ID:COM block doesn’t turn yellow.

In case the ID: COM doesn’t turn yellow then you need to install Samsung USB Drivers, .NET Framework and update KIES with the latest version so that the missing drivers get installed.
Step-4: Click on the PDA option and select the PDA file as mentioned below in Odin
PDA : CODE_G70XXKPF_CL562492_REV01_user_low_ship_HOME.tar

Tap on “Start” to begin the firmware updation process and wait for the process to complete.
Step-5: After the phone reboots, you will be prompted to enter the Language Settings and Google Account Credentials. Power off your phone to enter into Recovery mode by pressing Volume UP key + OK button and holding both simultaneously press Power button. In Recovery mode choose the options of ”Wipe data/Factory reset” > “Wipe Cache partition” to clear all cache files then choose “Reboot system now” option to restart the phone.
Thus you can easily update your Samsung Galaxy S Wi-Fi 5.0 otherwise knows as Samsung Galaxy Player smartphone with the Stock ROM G70XXKPF by following the steps mentioned above carefully.

This firmware update is strictly for the European users of Samsung Galaxy S Wi-fi 5.0 smartphone having model number YPG70CW and if you follow the entire procedure carefully you wont end up bricking your smartphone. There is another version of this 2.3.6 Gingerbread firmware that is G70ZCKPA meant for Chinese users the one you are talking about.
