Step-1: Download Galaxy SL DDKP2 2.3.6 Firmware Package from the Must Have section to your computer. Unzip it and place it on the desktop for easy accessibility.
Step-2: After the files are extracted, you will find three files in total that are Odin flash tool, PDA file and another supporting .dll file that is to be ignored. Match them with the image given below and if the contents get mismatched, check with the file extraction and download again.

Step-5: Click on PDA tab and select the file named as “I9003DDKP2_I9003ODDKPH_I9003DDKP4_HOME.tar.md5” from the extracted files. Match all settings in Odin including “Re-partition” but do not select the option of “Re-partition”. After cross checking the file selection, click on Start in Odin to begin the firmware updation process. Within 3-4 mins the whole updation process will conclude and the phone will reboot.
To confirm whether the firmware has been updated successfully or not, navigate to “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will discover the firmware version as DDKP1 2.3.6 Gingerbread version. If you find any other firmware version then apply the updation process again from the beginning.
If you are facing problems related to force close errors then turn off your phone and enter into Recovery mode by pressing Volume Up key + OK button and holding both simultaneously press Power button.
