After you are done with the updation and rooting process, enable USB Debugging Mode in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Make sure to tick the option of USB Debugging.

Step-1: Download Android 4.0.3 RC 4.1 Package from the Must Have section to your computer and connect your smartphone to the computer via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time. Copy the downloaded zip file to your phone’s SD Card.

Step-2: After copying is over, remove the connected USB Cable and enter the device into Recovery mode. The Recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Up Key + OK button and holding both press Power button simultaneously.

Step-3: In Recovery mode choose the options of  “Wipe data/factory reset” > “Wipe Cache partition” to clear all cache present in the device. Next select “install zip from SD Card” > “choose zip from SD Card” and choose the “ICS_4.0.3_MR1-RC4.1_I9000.zip” file placed in your phone.

Step-4: It will take about 15 – 20 minutes to apply this update. Now select  “++++ Go Back ++++” > “reboot system now” option to reboot the phone.

In case you are getting force close errors then clear all cache from Recovery mode by selecting “Wipe data/factory reset” > “Wipe Cache partition” options.
