A new version of Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware has rolled out for Samsung Galaxy POP S5570I users. It is to be noted that this is the official firmware for Indian users but users from other parts of the world can also apply this update as this is a global update. This new Gingerbread 2.3.6 is known as DDLA1 firmware. You do not require to root your smartphone to apply this update and if you have already rooted your smartphone from before, then the rooting access will get cancelled after applying this update.

Steps to Update Official DDLA1 Gingerbread 2.3.6 Firmware in Samsung Galaxy S5570I:
Step-1: Enable USB Debugging in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Make sure that USB Debugging option is ticked
Download Galaxy POP Gingerbread Zip package from the Must Have section to your computer and extract the file at the same location. After extraction is complete, match the files with the image given below and if a single file is found missing then check with the downloading and extraction of files.
Step-2: Open Odin in your computer and power off your phone to enter your device into Download mode by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button and holding both press Power button simultaneously. Once you enter into download mode connect your phone to the computer via USB Cable while keeping the ODIN opened.
Step-3: Now the drivers will get installed and ID: COM will turn yellow indicating that you can now proceed to the next step. It may take 3-4mins for the ID:COM block to install all the drivers hence wait till the process completes. Dont proceed to the next step if the ID:COM block doesn’t turn yellow.
In case the ID: COM doesn’t turn yellow then you need to install Samsung USB Drivers, .NET Framework and update KIES with the latest version so that the missing drivers get installed.
Step-4: Click on “OPS” in Odin then tick on “One Package” tab and select the the file named “S5570IDDLA1_S5570iODDLA1_S5570IDDLA1_HOME.tar.md5” then tap on “Start” to begin the firmware updation process. Wen the phone gets updated, it will restart and you will be prompted to enter the Google Account credentials in your phone. Disconnect the USB Cable after it is done.
In case there is any interruption, re insert the battery and follow the
instructions again from the beginning.
Step-5: Users getting force close errors after applying this update should power off their phone to enter into Recovery mode. The Recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button and holding both press Power button simultaneously. In Recovery mode, select “Wipe data/factory reset” > “Wipe Cache partition” then reboot your device by selecting the option of ‘Reboot system now’.
