Motorola Droid 3 users seem to get lucky as a new update has just rolled out for your device which is none other than the recent ICS firmware Android 4.0.3 version. It is to be noted that this is not the official update released by Motorola but is the beta leaked version. This new ICS update is also known as 5.7.905 and comes with a variety of features and enhancements which we will be taking a look at in a short while.
Here we have come up with a simple procedure on how you can update this firmware in your Motorola Droid 3 smartphone. You need to root your device before applying this update and rooting will void your smartphone’s warranty. The only way to reclaim back the warranty is to un-root the device or re-apply the default stock firmware again.
We wont be responsible for any harm caused to your device during the updation procedure that is unlikely to happen if you follow the instructions carefully. The updation procedure is not recommended for basic users but is for advanced users and is only applicable to Motorola Droid 3 smartphones that are network unlocked. Do not apply it in any other device as it might not be reversible and may harm the device by blocking it.
Let’s take a look at some of the new features that come with this ICS version.
- Battery Life improved marginally
- Icon Set renewed
- Google+ is now a part of default application
- Bugs related to Camera is fixed
