Samsung Galaxy GIO S5660 users can now update their smartphone with an all new firmware known as LVHKP7 2.3.4 Gingerbread firmware. This is not the official firmware release via KIES so we will
be using the Odin tool to apply this firmware.
We wont be responsible for any harm caused to your device during the updation procedure that is unlikely to happen if you follow the instructions carefully. The updation procedure is only applicable to Samsung Galaxy GIO S5660 smartphones that are network unlocked so do not try it in any other devices as it might not be reversible and will harm the device by blocking it. Pre-Requisites: The OS on your system should be of Windows 7/XP/Vista and your PC or laptop should have minimum of USB 2.0 support. Steps to Update LVHKP7 2.3.4 Gingerbread Firmware in Samsung Galaxy Gio: Step-1: Download Samsung Galaxy Gio LVHKP7 Package from the Must Have section to your computer and unzip it to your computer or laptop. After extraction is complete, match the files with the image given below and if a single file is found missing then check with the downloading and extraction of files.
Step-2: Open Odin in your computer and power off your phone to enter your device into Download mode by pressing Volume Down Key + OK button and holding both press Power button simultaneously. Once you enter into download mode connect your phone to the computer via USB Cable while keeping the ODIN opened.
Step-3: Now the drivers will get installed and ID: COM will turn yellow indicating that you can now proceed to the next step. It may take 3-4mins for the ID:COM block to install all the drivers hence wait till the process completes. Dont proceed to the next step if the ID:COM block doesn’t turn yellow.
In case the ID: COM doesn’t turn yellow then you need to install Samsung USB Drivers, .NET Framework and update KIES with the latest version so that the missing drivers get installed. Step-4: Select the ‘OPS’ option to select the ops file and package file under ‘One package’ option as mentioned below in Odin OPS – GIO_v1.0 One package – S5660LVHKP7_S5660LVHKP7_S5660LTMMKP4_HOME.tar
Double check the selected files and tap on “Start” to begin the updation process. The updation process will take a couple of minutes so do not interrupt the process in the middle. If at all any interruption occurs, follow the entire procedure again from the starting. When the firmware updation process is complete your phone will automatically restart indicating that the firmware updation process has successfully completed. Step-5: Power off your smartphone to enter into Recovery mode by pressing Volume UP key and OK button and holding both simultaneously press Power button. In recovery mode choose the options of “Wipe data/Factory reset” > “Wipe Cache partition” to clear all cache files from the phone with the help of Volume Up and Down keys to scroll up and down. Step-6: After clearing all cache files form the phone reboot it by using ‘reboot system now’ option then enter the Language preferences and Google account preferences to get back your phone into normal mode. Thus you can easily update your Samsung Galaxy GIO S5660 smartphone with the latest LVHKP7 2.3.4 Gingerbread version by following the steps mentioned above carefully.
