Huawei Honor is the second smartphone after Galaxy Nexus to be honored with the latest update of Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 version. Even though the company has released the files for ICS build but it is calling this as the demo version. Even though it’s a demo version, it is capable enough to provide users with the feel of Ice Cream Sandwich. As it is a demo operating system, you have to revert back to the original firmware version that is also covered here. Huawei has announced that based on user’s feedback, it will launch the official Android 4.0 update.

Steps to Update Update Huawei Honor to Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0:
Step-1: Download Ice Cream Sandwich Android 4.0 firmware package from the Must Have section to your computer and connect the Huawei Honor to the computer via original USB Cable obtained at the time of purchase.
Step-2: Copy the downloaded zip file to the SD Card of your phone and be sure to copy the Zip package to “dload” directory in your phone. After copying is done, disconnect the phone from computer and power Off your phone.
Step-3: Boot your phone into idle mode and tap on Menu button to choose the “Settings” > Storage > Software Update > SD Card upgrade > Select “OK” to perform the upgrade operation. When the screen displays “Upgrade Complete” it indicates that updation process is complete. Wait till the phone gets restarted and a boot animation as “Unicom” will be displayed after 3mins and the entire process will finally conclude.
