HTC Rezound users can now taste the recently rolled out ICS in their smartphones. Yes you heard it right. An all new ICS Android 4.0 firmware update is now available for HTC Rezound users. However it is to be noted that this is not the official firmware release by HTC and is not 100% stable. It is not essential that you root your device before proceeding into the updation process but make sure that you have unlocked your device and S-OFF is gained so as to ensure successful updation.

Steps to Update HTC Rezound with Android 4.0.3 Firmware:
Step-1: Download HTC Rezound Android 4.0.3 Firmware Package from the Must Have section to your computer. Connect the smartphone via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time and copy the downloaded zip file to your phone’s SD Card. Rename the zip file to PH98IMG.zip.
Step-2: Remove the connected USB Cable after copying the file and power off your phone to enter into Boot loader mode by pressing Volume up key + OK button and holding both press Power button simultaneously. If the device enters into Normal mode then try to enter into Boot loader mode multiple times till you are finally there.
Step-3: In Boot loader mode select “Recovery” to enter the device in the recovery mode. Now in Recovery mode choose ”Install zip from SD Card” > “Choose zip from sd card” then by the help of Volume up and Volume down keys locate the zip file that was copied to your phone’s SD card having the name “ ”.
Step-4: It will take about 10mins for the firmware updation process to complete. As soon as the rooting process completes, your phone will automatically reboot. If it doesn’t do so you have to head back to the main menu and manually reboot your phone by selecting the option of ”++++Go Back++++” then “Reboot system now”.
Now you can restore back all the data that you took previously took a back up of and also configure the APN and Internet settings to access data and internet.
