Steps to Update HTC Desire HD via OTA:
Since this is an official release of the OTA update, you will get notifications directly on your smartphone. The notifications will include messages such as updates are all set for your smartphone with all the update details included in the message. If you receive any such notification then pull down the notification bar where you will find two options that is Install now or Install later. Install now option will provide instant update while Install later will keep on reminding you about the OTA update atleast twice or thrice a day.
Check via Manual Update:
In case you do not receive any updation notification from HTC, then you can manually check whether any updates are available to you or not anytime from your phone. Navigate to your device’s home screen and click on Menu > Settings > About Phone > System Update then finally tap on Update Android. You must possess an active internet connection in your handset to proceed with the OTA update. We recommend users to update it via Wi-Fi and not to use their carrier data plans. When you are ready, tap on Update Android and all your updates will be installed automatically. You just have to follow the on screen instructions.
How to Check Software Version in your Phone:
In order to check the software version in your device after having applied the update, navigate to Home screen and click on Menu > Settings > About Phone. Now the built number along with the software number will be displayed. Thus you can easily update your HTC Desire HD with the official Android 2.3.5 firmware by following the steps mentioned above carefully.
