There is good news for Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 users as they can now install a newly released Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware in their smartphone. Here we have discussed the detail procedure on how to update this firmware manually and anyone from any part of the world can proceed with the update as it is a global release.

The best part of this official update is that the warranty does not get void and if you have already rooted your smartphone from before then after applying this firmware the root access will get invalid and you can reclaim back the lost warranty.

We wont be responsible for any harm caused to your device during the updation procedure that is unlikely to happen if you follow the instructions carefully. The updation procedure is not recommended for basic users but is for advanced users and is only applicable to Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 smartphones that are network unlocked. Do not apply it in any other models or in any other device as it might not be reversible and may harm the device by blocking it.

Pre-Requisites:

You must backup all user data present in your phone since chances of data loss or corruption are there. Having a backup can help you replace the lost data if any damage occurs. Follow the link posted below to backup and restore all your data easily.

There are no major visual changes in this DDKP3 update except for some performance fixes and camera issue has been fixed. I would suggest you to go with DDKP3 instead of CM because 1) it’s an official firmware so no chance of warranty getting void
      2) SKYPE, Paltalk, Yahoo video calls work along with camera
For CM some things that are buggy and not working in a good shape are:
      1) DSP manager
      2) GPS
      Things not working completely are:
      1) Video recording
      2) Hotspot
      3) Tethering
4)Applications that require mic can’t use the mic
