Step-1: Download Gingerbread 2.3.4 Package from the Must Have section to your computer then connect the phone to the computer via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time. Step-2: Disconnect the USB Cable then download ROM Manager application from the Must Have section. Open ROM Manager and choose the option called “Backup and Restore” then select “Backup Current ROM” so that the image of current firmware will be backed up.
Step-3: After ROM is backed up, power off the phone to enter into recovery mode by pressing the “Volume Down + Menu key and holding both simultaneously press Power button to turn on the device in Recovery mode. Step-4: In Recovery mode clear all the cache present in your phone by selecting the option of “Wipe” or “Wipe Cache Data”. Now you will again land in Recovery Mode screen after clearing all the cache.
Step-5: Select the option of “Flash zip from SD Card” with the help of Volume buttons then press Power button and select the file named as “LGOptimusONE_P500_2.3.4.zip”. As soon as you select the file the firmware updation process will commence and after around 5mins the process will finish.
Step-6: After the firmware is successfully applied, the device will restart automatically or will again land up in Recovery mode again. Select “Power Off” or “Reboot system now” according to the options displayed in screen. In case you chose “Power Off” option then you have to turn on the device after manually pressing the Power button.
