It’s the time to rejoice and make merry for all Samsung Galaxy I9003 users. According to recent reports Samsung had decided to discontinue support for this phone but now surprisingly it has come out with the Official Gingerbread 2.3.6 version. This new update is the Official Gingerbread 2.3.6 update for Galaxy SL I9003 otherwise known as DDKP1. You can apply this update directly without having to wait to update the phone from KIES Samsung Official tool. The coolest part is that it is this is the Official update from Samsung Electronics Ltd. This ROM for Galaxy SL I9003 will definitely be called as Kolaveri Di ROM since it is an
official update of Gingerbread 2.3.6.
This update is meant for Indian users although users from other countries can apply this update too since this is not the Boot loader update. Indian users facing problems such as phone not getting connected with KIES, need not worry anymore as this Gingerbread 2.3.6 firmware supports KIES. If you have rooted and lost the warranty, you can reclaim it back after applying this update and then apply all future updates from KIES. You don’t require rooting the
phone to apply this update which indicates that the warranty won’t be void. In case you are already on rooted firmware then after applying this firmware, the rooting access will be revoked again.
