The recently launched Samsung Galaxy Note landed into the market with Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS. But with the unending updation season, there are always minor enhancements and upgradations available for Android. The latest update that we have come across is the official Gingerbread 2.3.6 DDKL1 OTA update meant for Galaxy Note. The update is available through the software update section of the Note or it can be done manually using Samsung KIES software. This new update does not encompass any major changes noticed in its predecessor Gingerbread 2.3.5 version, apart from providing better stability.

Each time a new software update comes out for Galaxy Note, you would receive a notification in the Note regarding the new update, with the condition that you have set the option of checking for updates as on from before. Lets take a look at some of the screen shots given below.

On the other hand you can follow these simple steps to update the software in Samsung Galaxy Note:
Step-1: Open Settings > About the Phone that is present in the last section of settings area. Here you will see the first option of Software Update. Tap on it and it would open a few more options along with the one for checking new available software.
Step-2: You can check for any new update available then update the Galaxy Note to the latest software, via internet through a high speed connection preferably Wi-Fi or 3G since slower internet speeds could consume much time to download 17.3MB of software.
Step-3: After you have downloaded the available update, you can install it at the same time or wait up and do it later as the downloaded update would also be available later on. Once the updation is complete, the Galaxy Note will reboot and it will notify you about the new update installation success. In case the installation process fails, you need not worry about it as it will notify you about that too when the Note gets rebooted.
You don’t need any sort of active USB connection for this updating process as it is performed via internet through high speed Wi-Fi or 3G.
Thus you can successfully update the official Gingerbread 2.3.6 DDKL1 in Samsung Galaxy Note by following the above mentioned simple steps.
