Steps to Update Galaxy Nexus S with Android 4.0.3 ICS Firmware:

Step-1: Enable USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”.

Download Nexus S ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware Package from the Must Have section to your computer and place it in your desktop to avail easy accessibility. Connect your phone to computer via original USB Cable that you got at purchase time and copy the downloaded zip file to your phone’s SD Card without modifying or renaming them.

Step-2: Disconnect the USB Cable and rename the positioned file to “update.zip”. Power off the phone to enter into Boot loader mode by pressing the Volume Up key and Power button simultaneously to again turn on the phone.

Step-3: In Boot loader / Recovery mode chose the option of “apply update from SD card” then choose the update.zip file that you have placed and renamed in your phone. After selecting the file it will take 10-15mins to complete the process of firmware updation. After the update is completely applied, the device will reboot indicating the update has been successfully applied.
