Steps to Update Android 4.0 Firmware in HTC Inspire 4G:
Step-1: Download Android 4.0.3 Firmware from the Must Have section to your computer and connect your phone to the computer via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time. Copy the downloaded zip file to your phone without modifying or renaming them in any manner.
Step-2: After you have copied all the files, remove the connected USB Cable and enable USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Application > Development > USB Debugging”. Make sure to tick the USB Debugging option.
Step-3: Power off the phone to enter into Boot loader mode by pressing the Volume Down button + OK button and holding both press Power button simultaneously. If the device boots into Boot loader mode then re-try to enter into Recovery mode till you are finally there.
Step-4: In Boot loader mode select the option of “Recovery” to enter into Recovery mode. In Recovery mode select the options of ”Install zip from SD Card” > “Choose zip from SD Card” and choose the ICS Android 4.0.3 firmware zip file placed in your phone.
Step-5: After the firmware is successfully updated, the phone will either restart automatically or land up in Recovery mode screen. If the device enters into Recovery mode screen then choose the option of ”++++Go Back++++” > “Reboot system now” to restart the phone in ICS Android 4.0.3 firmware.
Step-6: If the device takes more than 10 minutes to reboot then, re-insert the battery to reboot the phone again. If the device gets hung somewhere in the middle of the updation process then re-apply the instructions again from the beginning.
To confirm whether the firmware has been updated successfully or not, navigate to the path Settings >About Phone > Firmware Version where you will discover the firmware version as ICS Android 4.0.3.
