Cheers to Sony Ericsson Xperia mini Pro users as they can now update their smartphone with the recent ICS Android 4.0 firmware. This is not the official firmware released by Sony but is the developed by a third party developer, Kamarush. Steps to Update Android 4.0.3 Firmware in Xperia mini Pro:
Step-1: Download Android 4.0.3 Firmware Package from the Must Have section to your computer. Connect your smartphone to the computer via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time and copy the downloaded zip file to your phone’s SD Card. Enable USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > USB Debugging”.
Step-2: Press Power button and while the device the device reboots, press Volume Rocker a couple of times to boot into Recovery Mode. When the device boots into Recovery, use side Volume Rocker to move around and Power button to select. In Recovery mode, select “Install zip from SD Card” > “Choose zip from SD Card” and choose the ICS Android 4.0.3 Firmware zip file placed in your phone.
Step-3: It will take about 10 minutes for the entire updation process to complete. When the updation is complete, the device will again land in Recovery Mode. Now choose “++++ Go Back ++++” > “Reboot system now” so that the device re boots successfully.
Restore all data that you had previously taken the backup of and also restore the APN settings that are responsible for accessing internet. If the device enters in into boot loop mode then re-apply the firmware updation process again by following the steps mentioned above.
