There’s great news for Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 users as they can now update their smartphone with a new version of ICS Android 4.0.3 firmware. This is the first alpha version and is still in the making. This firmware only works on rooted devices so make sure that you have rooted your phone before proceeding into the updation instructions. However rooting will void the warranty but you can reclaim back the lost warranty by re-applying the default or stock firmware again.
We wont be responsible for any harm caused to your device during the updation procedure that is unlikely to happen if you follow the instructions carefully. The updation procedure is not recommended for basic users but is for advanced users and is only applicable to Samsung Galaxy SL I9003 smartphones that are network unlocked. Do not apply it in any other device as it might not be reversible and may harm the device by blocking it.
Lets take a look at some of the operational features that come with this firmware update.
- Market and Google Sync
- Cell Radio – Calls / SMS
- GPS – Not Tested (Network Location Service Works)
- SDCards (Internal and External SD)
- WIFI – Network Scanning and DHCP issues
- Hardware Acceleration – Needs a Driver Upgrade in the Kernel
