It is important to note that during the firmware updation process your device will get rooted thus void its warranty. Steps to unlock LG G Slate Boot loader:
Step-1: Copy the boot loader unlock package to your devices’ SD Card root by connecting the device to the computer via the original USB Cable that you got at purchase time.
Step-2: Launch the command prompt in your computer and navigate to fastboot.exe file and open it to enter the commands for Windows or Linux as mentioned below:
./fastboot oem unlock
./fastboot boot recovery.img
Step-3: Enter your device into Recovery mode by pressing the Volume down button + Reset button placed next to the Sim card slot, till you enter into Recovery mode.
Step-4: If the device starts in normal mode then again restart the device to enter into recovery mode. Select the options of “Install zip from SD Card” > “Choose zip From SD Card” then choose the file named as root.zip package in recovery mode. Select the option of “++++GoBack++++” if the device doesn’t restart on its own.
