Step-1: Download RSD Zip file to your phone then power off your device. Press Power and Volume Up buttons simultaneously to boot the Motorola Atrix 4G in RSD.
Step-2: When the device boots in RSD mode it will display a message as “Starting RSD Protocol Support”. Run the RSD Lite program and tap on the “…” tab located next to “Filename”. Now look for the unzipped SBF tar file and select it.
Step-3: Connect the smartphone to the computer via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time and wait for the RSD Lite to recognize the smartphone. As soon as the RSD Lite recognizes the device it will display a message as “connected”. Tap on Start button and the phone will automatically reboot on its own.
Step-4: Power off the phone and press the Power and Volume Down button simultaneously till you enter into Fastboot mode. Release the buttons and press the Volume Up key after which a message will be displayed as “Starting Fastboot protocol support”. Connect the Atrix 4G into the USB port of your computer and launch the terminal or command prompt in your computer.
Step-5: Type the command as mentioned below in the command prompt
It is to noted that the “administrator” keyword in the above command might vary according to the system used, so set the path accordingly. Next type the command mentioned below
fastboot oem unlock
Step-6: Now a warning message will pop up along with the unique ID of the device that you have to note down. Now type the commands mentioned below
fastboot oem unlock #yourdeviceID
As soon as you enter the above commands, your Motorola Atrix 4G smartphone will reboot to unlock and fix the bootloader.
In case you see that the device is continuously rebooting or enters into loop mode then pull out the battery re-insert it then proceed to follow the instructions again from the beginning.
