Download Unlock Bootloader Zip file to your computer and unzip it to get android_winusb.inf-file that is a standard Android file with some lines of code, to enable Fast boot in order to support Sony Ericsson devices.
Step-2: Next download Android SDK from the Must Have section to your computer and keep this unzipped file in the “usb_driver” folder present in Android SDK folder in your computer. If you come across any prompt displaying “Replacing the old android_winusb.inf-file with a new file” then accept it.
Step-3: Power off your phone and push and continue holding the unlock button* in your phone while you connect the phone to the computer via USB-cable. You will now be prompted for the drivers so select the path pointing to usb_driver-folder where you have kept the android_winusb.inf-file and also select the Android Boot loader Interface-file. In case you are not prompted for the drivers and your phone begins to boot normally then, it is impossible to unlock the boot loader of your phone.
Step-4: Launch the command prompt or terminal window and navigate to the tools folder present in the Android SDK folder in your computer. Enter fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce getvar version and make sure that you get a response back (such as “0.3″). This would indicate that your phone is properly connected.
It is to be noted that in case the fast boot displays <waiting device> you will have to check the host for USB device status. If you find any unknown devices, check the driver installation or if the phone boots in normal or fast boot mode then it indicates the boot loader cannot be unlocked.
Step-5: After you have completed the above procedure, navigate to Sony Ericsson’s Xperia Play page and select the option of “Continue” present at the bottom of the page.
Step-6: Tap on the option of “Yes, I’m sure” and proceed to continue after which you will again receive the notification as shown in the image given below where you ought to accept the legal terms by checking both the options then tap on the option of “I Accept”.
