There is awesome news for all those LG Optimus users who have bricked their Optimus One P500. You can now revive back your dead device and bring it back to life. Now get the tension off your head and cautiously follow every step in detail. Just make sure that your device has the name and model number as LG Optimus One P500 and not any other model else you won’t be able to recover back the device.
We wont be responsible for any harm caused to your device during the unbrick procedure that is unlikely to happen if you follow the instructions carefully. This unbrick procedure is only applicable to LG Optimus One P500 phones so do not try it in any other devices as it may not be reversible and harm the device by blocking it.
You must possess a Windows based computer with a minimum of Windows XP SP3+ since Mac or Linux based computers won’t be supported. Backup all user data present in your phone since chances of data loss or corruption are there. Having a backup will help you replace the lost data if any damage occurs. Follow the link posted below to backup and restore all your data easily.
Steps to Unbrick LG Optimus One P500:
Step-1: Download LG Electronics Software Tool Updater mentioned in the Must Have section to your computer and unzip it.
Open the file called “msxml.msi” from the uncompressed directory present in the extracted file.
Now check if your phone is turning on due to lesser battery life by plugging in the charger for a couple of minutes and if it refuses to power on, you can proceed with the steps mentioned below. You can also try to power on the device by re-inserting the battery as it helps to turn on the device in some cases.
Step-2: Make sure that you have installed the latest LG PC Suite plus the latest LG USB drivers from the official LG Website so as to ensure that all the drivers get successfully installed in phone.
Disable LG Electronics Virtual Modem from the path “Control panel > System > Hardware > Device Manager > Modems”. Right click on “LG Electronics Virtual Modem” and disable it so that it doesn’t interrupt during the unbrick process.
Step-3: Press “Volume Up + Back key” and while holding both connect the USB Cable to the phone then connect to your computer. When you connect the phone, a yellow screen will be displayed with an emergency mode. Now shake the phone and run the file named as “KDZ_FW_UPD.exe” then select “3GQCT” and next select “DIAG”.
Step-4: If the flashing fails then try another mode or try by shaking the phone and connecting or disconnecting the phone. From the KDZ file select ROM file that you had downloaded in the initial steps. Tap on “Launch Software” and shake the handset with your hand on the touch screen. The device will be updated successfully and when it is done, disconnect the phone from computer.
Step-5: Press Volume Up + Home key and while holding both these buttons press the power on button to turn on the phone. Now you will have to update your phone with the original firmware available in your country.
Thus you can easily revive back your LG Optimus One P500 by following the above mentioned steps carefully.
