Good news for AT & T HTC One X users as they can now root their devices on the ICS 4.0.3 firmware. It is to be noted that rooting the device will void the device’s warranty but rooting will enable users to install the apps that require root access.
However rooting will not interrupt the updates and in spite of rooting, you will be entitled to receive constant updates from HTC or AT & T. Users can cancel the rooting access at any point by applying the default firmware in their device. Here we have come up with a detailed procedure so as to root your HTC One X smartphone.
We wont be responsible for any harm caused to your device during the rooting procedure that is unlikely to happen if you follow the instructions carefully. The rooting procedure is not recommended for basic users but is for advanced users and is only applicable to HTC One X smartphones that are network unlocked. Do not apply it in the international unlocked / locked version of HTC One X or in any other device as it might not be reversible and may harm the device by blocking it.
You must backup all user data present in your smartphone since chances of data loss or corruption are there. Having a backup will enable you to replace the lost data if any damage occurs. Follow the link posted below to backup and restore all your data easily.
Steps to Root HTC One X:
Step-1: Download HTC Drivers, Rooting Package from the Must Have section to your computer. Install HTC Drivers and extract onxr.zip o a directory on your computer. Connect your smartphone to the computer via original USB Cable. In case you are using a desktop PC, plug the device’s USB cable into the back of your computer.
Step-2: Enable USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”. Make sure that USB Debugging option is ticked.
Step-3: Put your smartphone in Charge Only mode. Pull down
the notifications bar, click on the option of USB connection type and switch to “Charge only.”
