By default HP Touch Pad comes with a processing spedd of 1.2 GHz but all thanks to developers who have cracked the code to safely overclock it to a whopping 1.9GHz. Users can now customize the Touch Pad like never before by following the simple tips mentioned in the article here. Follow the tips carefully as mentioned and you will turn

Steps to Overclock HP Touch Pad to 1.9 GHz:

Step-1: Be sure that the USB Drive Mode is disabled. You only require to be on Charge mode. Tap on the USB icon on top and move out of USB Drive mode if it is in USB drive mode.

Step-2: On the HP Touch Pad’s main screen, a search box will be displayed in the middle of your screen at the top . Inside this box, type in the following using the on screen keyboard

Step-3: Click on the option of On and power it on. You will now be prompted for a password but do not enter anything in the password field. Just leave it blank. Failure to do this will lead you to Web OS Doctor where you have to completely reset your HP Touch Pad.

Step-4: Download and install Java SDK followed by Web OS Quick Install from the Must Have section to your computer. If your HP Touchpad is not in USB Drive mode, Web OS Quick Install will rapidly install a driver for your HP Touch Pad. After installation of the drivers is complete, Web OS Quick Install will recognize your device. The area under “Device”, “HP Touchpad” will be greyed out indicating that the tablet is now recognized.

Step-5: In case HP Touch Pad does not show up, restart your computer and double check to make sure that you are not in USB Drive mode. Try out canada meds a different USB Port on your computer and finally recheck all the connections.

Step-6: Click on the Globe Icon on the WebOS Quick Install program in your computer and a bunch of applications will be displayed that can be installed. Search for Preware under the application list, highlight it and hit the Install button.

Step-7: Get your HP Touch Pad and open up your applications menu then click on Downloads tab on the top. Look for Preware and open it. From the drop down menu, choose the options of “Manage Feeds > New Feed” and enter “Name” as “webos-testing-all” and “url” as http://ipkg.preware.org/feeds/webos-internals/testing/all” respectively.

Step-8: Tap on “Add Feed” after which a disclaimer will pop up that you will have to choose wisely. Now the feed will get added successfully and it’s time you proceed to add the second one with the “Name” as “webos-testing-armv7” and “url” as “http://ipkg.preware.org/feeds/webos-internals/testing/armv7” respectively.

Step-9: Presuming that both the feeds have been added successfully, press the Back button to get back to the main page of the Preware app. From the main menu options of the Preware, choose the option of “List Everything” and look out for the F15C Eagle kernel.

Step-10: This kernel will provide you with the overclocking capability in your HP Touch Pad. Install the kernel and after it is successfully installed, restart your device.
