Xperia Acro HD SO 03D is a modified version of Xperia Ion smartphone from the house of Sony. Previously, this smartphone was available for pre-order booking starting from 2nd
March and was expected to hit the shelves from March 15th onwards. The launch of Sony (Ericsson) Xperia acro HD on Japan’s trusted NTT DoCoMo network took place as expected. Oddly enough, Japanese models are still sporting the complete Sony Ericsson logo on the handsets and packaging. Let’s quickly proceed to take a glance at its features and price.
Xperia Acro HD sports ultra-narrow frame, 4.2 inch LED backlit LCD display with a width of approximately 62mm. It has a screen resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels and supports 323 ppi pixel density. It is encased within an amazing scratch resistant glass and boasts of Reality Display that achieves a ratio of 100% NTSC color reproduction along with Mobile Bravia engine technology to improve the contrast and edge enhancement. This smartphone has bagged the IPX5/7 certification and thus claims to be waterproof and dust proof. It can endure water up to 1 meter of depth for about 30 minutes.
It is powered by Dual core Snapdragon processor that has a CPU speed of 1GHz and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread like a charm. However Sony has promised for Android 4.0 update that is most likely to roll out in the second quarter this year. Memory specifications include 16GB of internal storage with micro SD support. The phone ports are located on the side of the device with micro HDMI and micro USB port located adjacent to each other. It comes with a standard 1840mAh battery and HDMI.
Acro HD is equipped with a massive 12 MP rear camera with CMOS sensor called Exmor R that allows users to click photos within 1.5 seconds from standby mode. Other camera features include LED flash, Auto focus and 1080p HD video recording capability to provide the supreme video clarity. The front camera is of 1.3 MP and can be used for video chats and video calls.

NTT Docomo has priced Xperia Acro HD SO-03D for around 30,000 yen that is $370 and is available in shades of Aqua Blue, Black, Sakura Pink and Ceramich White. .
This smartphone is available on a monthly payment of 2520 yen for 24 months or 5040 yen for 12 months with a down payment of 3,150 yen including all taxes. You can avail discounts through the Spring Special smartphone campaign until March 31. The maximum discount you can come up with is 20,000 yen for a two year contract duration. In case you want to replace the battery of this smartphone in future, it will cost you an 9,240 yen extra.
