Sony and LG are the two brands to keep an eye on since they seem to have some strong plans this year. After Sony discontinued its long-time partnership with Ericsson, it changed its name to Sony Mobile Communications. Apart from the name change, Sony has included more than a dozen handset products to its own brand that are pretty good. Earlier this year, Sony had listed out its smartphones to be announced by the end of this year covering ranges from entry level to high end smartphones.
A day back Sony Pepper was flashed into news that is most likely to be available in the market sometime within the second quarter of this year and today we hear about LT29i Hayabusa smartphone. Till now, there is no official statement or confirmation to prove the existence of this smartphone. All that we have can be considered as mere leaks and rumors. Let’s proceed to check out the specs of this rumored smartphone. Hayabusa is expected to be a high end smartphone with a vibrant 4+ inch display having screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Well the interesting part is, it could be the first handset to be powered by Qualcomm’s 1.5GHz Dual Core Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 Chipset with Krait Core. It is expected to come out with Adreno 225 GPU providing graphic with Android 4.0.3 version pre-installed in it. It is supposed to be completely equipped with LTE connectivity which indicates that it could land on the vast fields of AT&T or Verizon carrier networks. This would be the first among Sony’s smartphone to be sported with no physical or capacitive touch buttons, on the contrary, it will make use of its
virtual buttons for navigation. We are yet to know about its camera specifications but since it’s a high-end smartphone, we expect it to come with dual camera facility. The rear facing camera will be packed with Auto Focus, Geo-tagging and LED flash and the front facing camera can be used for video chats. Apparently it will be equipped with a decent amount of memory and storage that will travel in parallel with its built-in support for Bluetooth, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA and Near Field Communication. NFC Technology can be used for virtual transaction operations and mobile payments. This handset is expected to arrive pre-loaded with a number of new features from Sony such as Smart Tags, Smart Watch and
Smart Pro. Smart Tags enable users to switch pre-defined settings to keep your tags, Smart Watch is a hand watch that offers various functions without the need to carry your handset, and Smart Pro is an enhanced wireless headset that also provides various capabilities of utilizing your smartphone. According to reports the smartphone is initially expected to roll out in Japan and South Korea this July for a price of less than 495 Euros approx and will be followed by a global launch later.
