The updation procedure is not recommended for basic users but is for advanced users and is only applicable to Samsung Galaxy S2 M250K smartphones that are network unlocked. Do not apply it in any other models of Samsung Galaxy S2 or in any other device as it might not be reversible and may harm the device by blocking it.
Keep a back up of all the user data present in your phone since chances of data loss or corruption are there. Having a backup will help you replace the lost data if any damage occurs. Follow the link posted below to backup and restore all your data easily.
Step-1: Enable USB Debugging Mode in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging” and make sure to tick the option of USB Debugging. Download ICS Package from the Must Have section to your computer and extract it.
Step-2: Open Odin from the extracted files and power off your smartphone to enter into Download mode by pressing Volume Down key+ Center button and holding both, simultaneously press Power button. A green robot will be displayed indicating that the device has entered into Download mode successfully. If the device boots into Normal mode then re-try to enter into Download Mode by the same process till you are finally there.
Step-3: Once you enter into download mode connect your phone to the computer via USB Cable while keeping the ODIN opened. Now the drivers will get installed and ID: COM will turn yellow indicating that you can now proceed to the next step. If the device does not get connected then navigate to the path “Settings > Wireless and network > USB Settings” then select Samsung KIES option and connect the phone to the computer to make ID : COM turn yellow.
Step-4: If the ID : COM section still doesn’t turn yellow, then install Samsung USB Drivers, .NET framework and update KIES with the latest version to install the missing drivers. Do not proceed to the next step if your phone refuses to enter into Download Mode in spite of repeated attempts.
Step-5: Click on the PDA tab in Odin, and select the file mentioned below
PDA – M250K_HOME_M250K.UC08.2152_CL226872_REV02_user_low_ship_source.jkh.tar.md5
Now tap on “Start” to begin the firmware updation process. After the firmware is successfully applied, it will restart on its own.
Step-6: When you see the home screen, disconnect the USB Cable and power off the phone to enter into Recovery Mode. The Recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume up key + OK button and holding both press the Power button simultaneously .
Step-7: In Recovery mode, select the options of “Wipe data/factory reset > Wipe Cache partition” then select “Reboot system now” option to reboot your device with the help of Volume rocker keys. If the device boots normally then re-try to enter into Recovery mode.
