Steps to Root Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 on Android 4.0.3 XXLPQ Firmware : Step-1: Enable USB Debugging Mode in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging” and make sure to tick the option of USB Debugging. Step-2: Download XXLPQ Rooting Package from the Must Have section to your computer that contains both the Rooting essential and Odin file. Extract the downloaded file and open the Odin executable file. Match the extracted files with the files screen shot given below and if a single file is found missing, then check with the downloading or extraction again.
Step-3: Power off your smartphone to enter into Download mode by pressing Volume Down key+ Center button and holding both, simultaneously press Power button. A green robot will be displayed indicating that the device has entered into Download Mode. If the device boots into Normal mode then re-try to enter into Download Mode by the same process till you are finally there.
Step-4: Once you enter into download mode connect your phone to the computer via USB Cable while keeping the ODIN opened. Now the drivers will get installed and ID: COM will turn yellow indicating that you can now proceed to the next step. If the device does not get connected then navigate to the path “Settings > Wireless and network > USB Settings > Select Samsung KIES option” and connect to the computer to make ID : COM turn yellow.
Step-5: If the ID : COM section still doesn’t turn yellow, then install Samsung USB Drivers, .NET framework and update KIES with the latest version to install the missing drivers. Do not proceed to the next step if your phone refuses to enter into Download Mode in spite of repeated attempts. Step-6: Tap on the “PDA” tab in Odin to select the “CF-Root-SGS2_XX_XEO_LPQ-v5.3-CWM5” file
obtained from the extracted zip file. Next tap on “Start” to begin the rooting process. It will take less than 2 minutes to root the device and after rooting is complete, it will restart on its own.
Step-7: When you see the home screen, disconnect the USB Cable and power off the phone to enter into Recovery Mode. The Recovery mode can be entered by pressing Volume up key + OK button and holding both press the Power button simultaneously . Step-8: In Recovery mode, select the options of “Wipe data/factory reset > Wipe Cache partition” then select “Reboot system now” option to reboot your device with the help of Volume rocker keys. If the device boots normally then re-try to enter into Recovery mode. Thus you can easily root your Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 smartphone on the latest Android 4.0.3 XXLPQ version by following the steps mentioned above carefully.
