Motorola Droid 3 – Tutorial to Root & Unroot

Cheers to all Motorola Droid 3 users as it can now be officially Rooted. However it is to be noted that the Rooting droid 3 logoProcedure is only applicable for users running only on Windows 7 / Vista based computers as it does not support Mac / Linux based computers. Rooting will void the warranty but you need not worry about it since you can equally unroot and claim back the warranty easily without any hassles involved.

Pre-Requisites:

You must backup all the user data present in your phone since chances of data loss or corruption are there. Having a backup will help you to replace the lost data if any damage occurs. Follow the link posted below to backup and restore all your data easily.

Pre Upgrade Instructions for Rooting and Firmware Update

Must Have:

Motorola drivers for 32 bit computersMotorola drivers for 64 bit computers Motorola One Click Rooting Suite

Steps to Root Motorola Droid 3  Smartphone:

Step-1: Download all files from the must Have section and install the respective Motorola drivers by extracting them. Unzip the Motorola One Click Rooting Suite and place it on your desktop so that it can be easily located.

Step-2: Enable USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Application > Development > USB Debugging” and connect the phone to the computer via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time.

Step-3: Navigate to Motorola One Click Rooting Suite Folder and open “Pet’s Motorola Tools” executable file then follow the onscreen instructions as shown below. Check with the APN Settings if you are unable to access internet.

Thus you can successfully root your Motorola Droid 3 smartphone by following the simple steps mentioned above. In case you are unable to root the phone even if you are running on Windows XP then download Special Rooting Suite to Root or Unroot the device.
