Samsung Galaxy tab users can now be the ultimate commander-in-charge by rooting this device running on Android 2.3.3. A new kernel called the CF-Root kernel has been released for Samsung devices that can root the Galaxy Tab in no time.
CF-Root has been build upon the stock Samsung Kernel and it includes root, Busybox, and ClockworkRecovery to it. This kernel is only meant for the GSM version of Galaxy Tab and is in no way a ROM. Before rooting it is recommended that you have a backup for all the important data.
Backup all the user data present in your phone since chances of data loss or corruption are there. Having a backup can help you replace the lost data if any damage occurs. Follow the link posted below to backup and restore all your data easily.
Steps To Root The Galaxy Tab:
Step-1: Download the CF-Root file and extract it to find CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.tar.
Step-2: Now download Samsung USB Drivers for or as per your requirement.
Step-3: Download ODIN file and install it to your system. Disconnect your device from the PC and then start ODIN. Tap on the PDA button in ODIN and choose the file named CF-Root-TAB7_XX_OXA_JQ1-v3.3-CWM3RFS.tar.
Step-4: Put your phone in download mode using the right keys combination and connect it to your PC. Ensure that Repartition is not checked. Now just hit the Start button in ODIN.
The process will take a few seconds to complete and the device will reboot.
For users already running on CF-Root 2.5 or newer versions follow the instructions below:
- Copy the zip file to your SD Card.
- Stop sharing SD Card with PC over USB and unplug the cable. Navigate to Applications > CWM > Flash Kernel.
- Select the zip file on your SD Card and you are done.
Now enjoy total root access on your Galaxy Tab.
