Step by Step Tutorial to Root Samsung Galaxy S II T-Mobile on Android 2.3.5

There’s good news for all you guys who now want to root your Samsung Galaxy S II. All varieties of Samsung Galaxy S II on US wireless carriers T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T can be rooted. Today we will go through the steps of how to root T-Mobile’s Galaxy S II variant. But remember you are to root at your own risk. We will not be responsible for any loss of data due to malfunctioning of your Samsung Galaxy S II for T-Mobile.

Steps To Root Galaxy S II T-Mobile On Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread:

Step-1: Install Samsung Kies on your Galaxy S II T-Mobile. This is done so that ODIN can detect your phone with correct drivers in the second step.

Step-2: Download and then launch ODIN v1.85. Turn your phone off and Hold Volume Up + Volume Down while you plug in your device to a computer via an USB cable.

Step-3: When your device is recognized, select the PDA button from ODIN and go to recovery-cwm-hercules.tar. Now click the Start button, recovery-cwm-hercules.tar will flash on your phone and it will reboot.

Step-4: After rebooting is over, pull down notification drawer and mount USB storage by tapping on connect USB storage. Transfer the Superuser zip file  su-3.0.5-efg-signed.zip to your SD card.

Step-5: Turn off your phone again and unplug the USB cable. Hold onto the Volume Up + Volume Down and click the Power button.

Step-6: Boot into ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery then to backup and storage > backup to take a nandroid backup of your device that can be used in case any problem arises. From CWM, go to install zip from sd card > choose zip from sdcard > su-3.0.5-efg-signed.zip.

Step-7: Finally go to main menu and choose the reboot system option to reboot your phone.
