Ainol Novo 8 – Tutorial to Root & Install Gingerbread 2.3.4 Firmware

Ainol novo 8 tablet from the house of Ainol is now rootable! This yet to be popular powerful device comes with an impressive 8 inched screen with 5 MP camera, IPS Panel display, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n support, 1080p capable device, 16:9 aspect ratio and so on. It is powered with A9 processor the same one that an apple iPad comes with. The only limitation is that it comes with a much older OS that is Froyo 2.2 version. Here we’ll take a look at on how to root the device and also on how to upgrade the firmware to 2.3.4 Gingerbread version form the current 2.2 Froyo version.

Steps to Update Ainol Novo 8 with Gingerbread 2.3.4:

Step-1:Enable USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”.

 Download Ainol Novo 8 Gingerbread 2.3.4 Package from the Must Have section to your computer and place it in your desktop to avail easy accessibility. Connect the Ainol Novo 8 tablet to computer via original USB Cable that you got at purchase time and copy the file to your phone’s SD Card without modifying or renaming them.

Step-2: Disconnect the USB Cable and power off the device to enter into Recovery mode. You can enter into Recovery mode by pressing the Volume down button + Center button and holding both simultaneously press Power button to turn on the device. If the device boots in normal mode keep trying the button combinations repeatedly till you enter into Recovery mode.

Step-3: After entering into Recovery mode, select the option of “Clear Cache Now” to clear the cache up to 2-3 times. Now  select “Choose zip from SD Card” if you have placed the file SD Card so as to select the file placed in the device.

Step-4: After the file is selected, the device will get updated and rooted automatically within 10mins. Now select the option of “++++ Go Back++++” then choose “Reboot System Now” option to restart. If you are interrupted during the firmware updation process, you will have to reapply the whole process again from the beginning.

Thus by following the  simple steps mentioned above you can easily update as well as root your Ainol Novo 8 with the latest Gingerbread 2.3.4 firmware.
