Steps to Root and Install Custom Recovery in Samsung Galaxy Note N7000:
Step-1: Enable USB Debugging in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”.
Download the Complete Rooting Package consisting of Odin flash tool and ClockWork MOD recovery tool. After downloading, extract the files to your computer and place them in your desktop for easy accessibility.
Step-2: When asked to enter password, enter password as Coveringandroid.com
Step-3: Match the extracted files with the below given screen capture. If it matches, you can proceed with the next step else you have to download and extract the files again.
Open the Odin flash tool executable file as shown below and turn Off your phone to enter into Download Mode. Enter your device into download mode by pressing the Volume Down Key, Center button and holding both press Power button simultaneously.

Step-4: On entering into download mode connect your phone to the computer via USB Cable while keeping the ODIN opened. When you connect your phone to the computer , within a minute, the ID: COM will turn yellow indicating that all the drivers have been installed successfully and you can now proceed to the next step.
Step-5: From Odin, click on “PDA” and choose the file named as “netchip-cwm-update2.tar”. Now tap on “Start” option to begin the rooting process. After Rooting process is done, the device will restart automatically on its own that indicates that the device has had a successful rooting.
Step-6: To install ClockWork MOD recovery zip file, connect your phone to the computer and download Custom Recovery image from the Must Have section. Then copy the file named as “Superuser-3.06-efgh-signed.zip” to your device.
Step-7: Disconnect the USB Cable and power Off your phone to enter into Recovery mode. Press Center button and Power button simultaneously to enter into Recovery mode. Now choose “install zip from SD Card” option and select the file named as “Superuser-3.06-efgh-signed.zip”
Step-8: After this process, the device will reboot and rooting will be accomplished.
