HTC Jet Stream – Tutorial to Root

Most people still don’t know much about this particularly expensive tablet from HTC known as “Jet Stream”. This tablet even though expensive can give tough competition to other tablets like Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Here we will go through the detail procedure on how to root the HTC Jet Stream and also install the Clock Work Mod Recovery so that you can mount any custom ROM firmwares in your device including the forthcoming ICS Android 4.0 firmware.

Must Have:

Download Insecure Kernel V02

Steps to Root HTC Jet Stream:

Step-1: Enable USB Debugging form the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”

Download Insecure Kernel V02 from the Must Have section to your computer and type the commands mentioned below to reboot the HTC Jet Stream in fast boot made.

It is to be noted that you require to install ADB in your tablet in order to execute this command.

Step-2: Connect your tablet to computer via original USB Cable that you obtained at purchase time. To check if the device is properly connected or not enter the commands mentioned below.

If the device is detected you can proceed to the next step but in case the device is not selected you ought to check with the ADB connection or drivers.

Step-3: When the device gets detected, Hboot the kernel that you have downloaded using the commands mentioned below.

After entering the commands mentioned above, the device will boot in normal mode. Disconnect the USB Cable then extract the contents of the downloaded v02 toolkit for Jet Stream files to the root directory of your computer such as C:\ or D:\

Step-4: Enable USB Debugging form the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”  in case it was not enabled from before. Connect the tabet to the computer and execute the RUNME.bat file in your computer.

Thus you can successfully root your HTC Jet Stream tablet by following the simple steps mentioned above.
