HTC Evo 3D CDMA users on the stock or default firmware can now root their smartphone. Rooting will void your smartphone’s warranty and enable you to try out custom ROMs such as Cyanogen Mod 7.1 and other applicaions that require root access.
We wont be responsible for any harm caused to your device during the rooting procedure that is unlikely to happen if you follow the instructions carefully. The rooting procedure is only applicable to network unlocked HTC Evo 3D CDMA smartphones so do not try it in any other devices as it might not be reversible and will harm the device by blocking it.
You must backup all user data present in your phone since chances of data loss or corruption are there. Having a backup will enable you to replace the lost data if any damage occurs. Follow the link posted below to backup and restore all your data easily.
Steps to Root HTC EVO 3D CDMA:
Step-1: Enable USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > USB Debugging” then download HTC Sync Drivers from the Must Have section and install them in Windows computers since Linux or Mac based computers are not yet supported.
Disable the option of fast boot from the path “Settings > Power > Fast boot”.
Step-2: Browse the HTC Beta generator Key site where you will come across an option of ”Download for Windows” and a file will be prompted to be downloaded. Download it and a notification called “Beta Key” will appear where you need to fill in the details like your operating system, device name, HBOOT version and serial number of your phone. Once you are done, click on “Generate Key” to generate the key.
Step-3: Connect your device to the computer via USB cable and open the downloaded revolutionary beta application. Next enter the correct beta key that you obtained from the above process. The custom recovery image gets installed and S Off is easily achieved thus the phone is rooted successfully.
Step-4: After the process is over the device will restart. In case the device fails to root then you have to re-try the entire process again. The entire process will take around 15 minutes, so make sure not to plug out the USB cable connected to the computer till the process completes.
