It’s time for rejoice as Samsung Galaxy I9003 users can now root their smartphone with the latest DDKP1/DDKP2 firmware of Gingerbread version. To apply this rooting procedure you need to make sure that you are running on DDKP1/ DDKP2 versions.

To check the firmware you are running on, navigate to “Applications > Settings > About Phone” where you will discover the firmware version as DDKP1 2.3.6 Gingerbread version. Steps to Root Galaxy SL I9003 on DDKP1 / DDKP2 Firmware: Step-1: Enable USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Settings > USB Debugging” enable usb debugging Download DDKP1 Rooting Package and DDKP2 Rooting Package from the Must Have section to your computer. Unzip it and place it on the desktop for easy accessibility. During the extraction process if prompted to enter a password give the password as Coveringandroid.com

Step-2: Open Odin .exe from the extracted files and power off your phone to enter your device into Download mode. The Download mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Down Key + (OK)Center button and holding both press Power button simultaneously.

Step-3: Once you enter into download mode connect your phone to the computer via USB Cable while keeping the ODIN opened. Step-4: If you wish to root your Galaxy SL on DDKP1 firmware click on “PDA” to select the file “DDKP1-CFROOT-23-12-2011” on the other hand if you want to root your Galaxy SL on DDKP2 firmware click on “PDA” to select the file “DDKP2-CFROOT-23-12-2011”. Match all settings in Odin including “Re-partition” but do not select the option of “Re-partition”. After cross checking the file selection, click on Start in Odin to begin the firmware updation process. Within 3-4 mins the whole updation process will conclude and the phone will reboot. It might take more than the normal time required to boot.
