Steps to Root Acer Iconia A101:
Step-1: Download A101 Rooting Package from the Must Have section to your computer. Enable USB Debugging Mode in your phone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Make sure to tick the option of USB Debugging.
Step-2:Power off your tab to enter into Recovery Mode. Press the Volume rocker key and while holding it power on the device to boot into Recovery Mode.
Step-3: Connect the tab to the computer via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time and open the terminal window or command prompt in your computer to enter the command mentioned below.
Step-4: After entering the above command you will receive an UID that you need to note down somewhere for later use.
Next enter the commands as mentioned below one by one.
/system/bin/cmdclient ec_micswitch ‘`echo ‘ro.kernel.qemu=1′ > /data/local.prop
Step-5: Now you will receive a beep along with the permission denied status message that is quite normal and indicates that the command has worked out successfully. Now type “Exit” in the command prompt to exit from the ADB shell after which the device will reboot.
Step-6: Open the command prompt in your computer again to enter commands mentioned below one by when. You have to wait for a minimum of 5seconds after entering each command for the commands to process.
adb push su /system/xbin/
adb shell “chmod 06755 /system/xbin/su”
Step-7: Next undo the qemu command by entering the command mentioned below.
adb shell “echo ‘#’ >/data/local.prop”
After the above command is processed, install super user in your device then run the busy box and go through the installation steps. You may be prompted for the super user permissions so allow access to it.
If the device is not rooted after following the above instructions then re-follow the entire procedure again. Thus you can easily root your Acer Iconia A101 tablet by following the steps mentioned above carefully.
