Steps to Update Android 4.0.3 Firmware in Motorola Defy: Step-1: Enable USB debugging in your Defy smartphone from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB debugging”. Make sure to tick the option of USB Debugging option. (Your smartphone should be disconnected from computer while enabling USB Debugging Mode).
Step-2: Download ICS Package followed by Google Apps from the Must Have section to your computer and connect your smartphone to the computer via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time. Step-3: Copy both the downloaded files to your phone and be sure not to place them deep into any sub-folders. After copying is over, disconnect the smartphone from computer and power off the device to enter into Recovery mode. Step-4: The Recovery mode can be entered by pressing the Volume Down button and holding it, press the Power button to power on the device.
