Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich comprises of a variety of wonderful features and one of the latest and most prominent feature is the Face Unlock Feature. This feature is in fact something that every Android user would love to have. However this feature can only be applied by ICS users and not by every Android user. As for now this Face Unlock Feature will only operate on Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100 powered with the Rooted XXKP8 Android 4.0.3 Firmware.
Thus to set up this Face Unlock Feature, you need to first update your Samsung Galaxy SII I9100 with XXKP8 ICS 4.03 firmware and after updating it you have to root your phone on XXKP8 ICS 4.03 firmware. Before proceeding into the updation procedure you must confirm that you are running on ICS Android 4.0.3 XXKP8 firmware. Steps to Install Face Unlock Feature in Samsung Galaxy S2 GT I9100:
Step-1: Download Face Unlock Package from the Must Have section to your computer. Connect the smartphone via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time and copy the downloaded zip file to your phone’s SD Card without renaming or modifying it. After copying is over, remove the connected USB Cable.
Step-2: Power off your phone to enter into Recovery mode by pressing Volume down key + OK button and holding both press Power button simultaneously. In Recovery mode choose “Wipe data/Factory reset” then “Wipe Cache partition” to clear all cache data present in phone and reboot your device by clicking on “Reboot system now” option via Volume Rocker keys. If the phone boots normally then repeat the button combination till you enter into Recovery mode.

Step-3: Next choose ”Install zip from SD Card” > “Choose zip from SD Card” then select the Face Unlock Zip file placed in your phone. It will take less than a minute for the updation process to complete. After the updation process is complete, you will again land up in Recovery mode. Now choose “++++Go Back++++” then “Reboot system now” option to reboot the phone. Here it will take more than the normal time to restart the device. You can also update this package alternatively via Clock Work Mod Recovery.
Thus by following the above simple steps you can easily update the Face Unlock Feature on Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 running on ICS Android 4.0.3 XXKP8 firmware.
