Steps to Install Boot loader in Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo:
Step-1: Make sure that you have fast boot in your computer in order to unlock the boot loader of Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo. Download and install Android SDK so as to get the fast boot shell in your computer.
Step-2: From your phone open Phone application and dial *#06# to obtain the IMEI number. Note it down so that you can restore it in case the IMEI number gets lost or misplaced. Enable USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”.
Step-3: Turn off the phone to enter into boot loader mode. Press and hold Menu button while connecting your phone to the computer via original USB Cable obtained at purchase time. After
connection is done, open the terminal or command window and type in the command mentioned below.
fastboot -i 0x0fce getvar version
Step-4: While the above command is being processed browse through the Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo Boot loader page. On that boot loader page tap on “Continue” button present at the bottom of the page. Now you will come across a message “Are you really sure?” Read the complete message and if you agree click on “Yes, I am sure”
Step-5: Now you will be prompted to enter the 14 digit IMEI number of your Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo minus the last digit, your name and the email address. you will get the unlock code that you must note down. Next enter the command mentioned below.
fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY
Step-6: It is to be noted that you have to replace the “KEY” word in the above command with the key that you have obtained. In case the above command fails to process, Make sure that your phones is well connected and has a minimum charge of 60%.
