Galaxy Ace S5830 – Tutorial to Install CM 9 ICS 4.0.3 Beta 4 Firmware

Cyanogen Mod developer team is working hard to bring out the latest Cyanogen Mod 9 for all models of Android handsets. The latest update to roll out form the CM team is the Beta 4 release of

-samsung-galaxy-s2/”>ICS Android 4.0 firmware meant exclusively for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 smartphone. This new firmware is not the official firmware version leaked from the house of Samsung but is almost stable and includes the goodness of ICS firmware that we will be checking out in a while.

You need to root your smartphone in order to apply this update and rooting will void your smartphone’s warranty. You can reclaim back the lost warranty by re-applying the default or stock firmware of DDKQ8 version.

Pre Upgrade Instructions for Rooting and Firmware Update

Must Have:

Download CM 9 Package

Steps to Update ICS Cyanogen Mod 9 Beta 4 Release:

Step-1: Enable USB Debugging from the path “Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging”. Make sure that USB Debugging option is ticked.

Step-2: Download CM 9 Package from the Must Have section to your computer. (Download the file named as “Beta 4 for Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 (10 Mar 2012) “). Connect your smartphone to computer via original USB cable and place the downloaded zip file in your phone. Make sure not to place the file deep into any sub-folders.

Step-3: Remove the connected USB Cable and power off your smartphone to enter into Recovery mode. The Recovery mode can be entered by holding the Menu button and Power button simultaneously. In case the device power on in Normal mode re-try to enter into Recovery mode till you are finally there.

Step-4: In Recovery

mode select the options of select “install zip from SD Card” > “choose zip from SD Card” then choose the Cyanogen Mod 9 Beta 4 zip file placed in your smartphone.

Step-5: After the firmware is successfully updated, the device will rebooted or will land up in Recovery screen again. In Recovery mode screen select the option of “++++ Go Back ++++” > “reboot system now” to reboot the phone. In case your smartphone refuses to display the home screen even after 5 minutes of restart then, pull out the battery and re-insert it again.

In case the process gets interrupted somewhere in the middle then re-apply the entire process again from the beginning. You can now restore the back up taken in the initial steps. Thus you can easily update your Samsung Galaxy Ace S5830 smartphone with the latest Cyanogen Mod 9 ICS Beta 4 firmware by following the steps mentioned above carefully.
