The GIF images and files are always more favored among us as they are the closest thing we have to a live video. GIF images provide an interface between an image and a video. You can create a photo of JPEG, PNG or bit map image format. However making a PNG image is quiet tough and for making animated images you require Photoshop. Often people opt out of the job involving Photoshop as it requires complete knowledge about the tools and a bit of practice to be able to work on it independently.
A new Android application called GIFDroid enables users to create GIF Images with the only input required is a video provided by us. Users have control over the GIF output image and we will check out how this application works. As soon as you download and install this application, you will receive a notification that this application is still under beta condition. You can report the bugs in case you find any that would in turn help the developer of his early release so that he can work upon improving it in the next update.
Lets take a glance at some of the features that this GIFDroid Android Application offers.
- You can convert videos into GIF images
- You can choose the specific video interval
- You can adjust preferences like frames per second or frame delay
- You have the option to adjust GIF output image dimensions
- You can choose pre-defined frames to create a perfect GIF image
- You can share and show the GIF image created
There are just three options present in the home interface of this application that are Select Video, Record Video and View Created GIFs. Each of these three options clearly depict the operations to be performed. For better example you can take a look at the below mentioned screen capture where videos have been taken from the file storage.
If you have selected or recorded a video then, in the next page you will be shown the video in the upper part and in the lower part you will find the option of Edit GIF preference and then the option of Next.
When you tap on Edit GIF Preference, you will find the following options:
- How many frames per second do you want to extract from the video
- Width of the GIF Image
- Height of the GIF Image
- Delay per second of the GIF Imag
After you are done with the Edit GIF Preference Settings, tap on Next and it will take some time to retrieve your video and start processing with the frames. Now you will be presented with the frames so choose the frames and tap on Create GIF to generate GIF image as done in the image given below.
After the GIF image is finally generated you have the options to share, rename, delete the GIF image or create another GIF image from there. The application has still a long way to go but presently has an easy and clean interface with clear options to navigate and the best part is it comes for free. Download the GIFDroid application and open GIFDroid page then tap on Install button to download this app automatically.
